This modern and attractively presented practice was founded in 2002 and moved into its current premises in May 2008. In March 2005, it introduced Clinical Pilates to respond to the increasing popularity of Pilates as an exercise method in Australia and worldwide. It developed a unique system of client assessment (Full Body Assessment) to generate information that physiotherapists could use to develop customised Pilates programs for each individual client, which made Clinical Pilates a very personalised and progressive exercise program.
The business sees on average 204 clients per week with two visits a week to give a total 408 consultations. All staff would see a proportion of the clients – 34 per week. The vast majority of clients (90%) are long term – over 12 months. There are 5-6 new clients seen each week.
With over $1,000,000 in annual revenue (from last financial year), approximately 93% of income is generated by Pilates while physiotherapy only accounts for 2%. Other services include H.I.T (cardio), and nutrition advice. The heavy reliance on Pilates differentiates the business from the traditional Physiotherapy Clinic and similarly with the number of qualified Physiotherapists it does not fit into the Yoga/Pilates Studio mould.
Staff consists of 5 full time and 1 part time professional practitioners. The administration/reception function has been outsourced to an off-site provider reducing costs. A full time Practice & Marketing Manager has been employed since 2005 but is now in the process of also being outsourced to further improve the business’ profitability.
The lease has 7 years remaining.
